CINCINNATI -- If you're driving in Evanston, Norwood or Highland Heights Monday, it might be a little crowded as students at Xavier and Northern Kentucky University are returning from winter break.
However, that isn't the case at the University of Cincinnati, as they are on the quarter system and have been in school since Jan. 4.
That will soon be changing.
UC's new president, Dr. Greg Williams, inherited the decision to convert UC's academic year to semesters.
Dr. Williams says in his two months on the job, he has been impressed with the university's willingness to change.
"We are continuing to work on the semester conversion, it's important," Williams said. "I'm pleased with the way that's taking off. We have a dedication and a spirit on campus that pervades everything we do that I'm extremely gratified about."
UC is planning on switching by 2012.
